What Our Clients Say About Us
The furniture is beautiful, lots of great displays and ideas in their showroom! Purchased a Rosa Marble side table for our living room and it’s soo pretty!!
First time purchaser from Elsa Home in Sydney and couldn’t be happier with the experience! Costa has well and truly restored my faith in furniture companies. We love our travertine sideboard piece, it’s so practical gives us ample storage!
We spent upwards of $10K on furniture last year and couldn’t be happier with the experience not to mention the products themselves. Costa was In constant communication with us which we appreciated even though they took longer than initially quoted. Everything is still holding up well and in great shape!! We are planning to order a few items soon so I am hoping the service is just as good this time around!
I have to admit, at first I was skeptical because the items seemed so reasonably priced, but I was quickly proven wrong after just a short conversation. We are thrilled with our custom-made Green Onyx coffee table from Elsa Home & Beauty, it truly feels like we made the perfect choice! Visiting the showroom really helped us appreciate the variety and quality of the stone options, thank you for bringing our dream piece to life!
Absolutely love our pink onyx dining table that we worked at creating with Elsa Home! It was an incredible journey which was not a bumpy ride at all. Everyone was pleasant to deal with
Marble Plinths FAQ
What is a marble plinth used for?
A marble plinth is a solid stone column used to elevate and display objects. Common uses include displaying sculptures, vases, and art pieces; as a side table or bedside table alternative; as a plant stand; and as a retail or gallery display feature. Their flat top surface and weighted base make them stable and versatile across residential and commercial settings.
How much does a marble plinth cost in Australia?
Marble plinths in Australia typically range from around $970 AUD for a standard travertine or black marble column up to $6,500+ AUD for large slab or onyx statement pieces. Mid-range solid marble plinths (Arabescato, Rose, Calacatta Viola) generally fall between $1,400 and $2,600 AUD. Price varies by stone type, size, and whether the piece is cut to a custom height.
What size marble plinth do I need?
It depends on the use. For a side table or bedside, look for 450–550mm height and a 250–350mm wide top. For displaying a vase or sculpture, the plinth should sit at roughly one-third the height of the object above it. For a tall gallery column or feature piece, 800mm and above is standard. All our plinths include dimensions on the product page.
What is the difference between a marble plinth and a pedestal?
The terms are used interchangeably in interior design. Technically, a pedestal often refers to a taller, narrower column, while a plinth can describe any solid stone block or short column used as a base or display surface. In practice, both describe the same category of solid stone display stand. At Elsa Home & Beauty, our range includes both compact display blocks and tall column pedestals.
Can I use a marble plinth as a side table?
Yes! this is one of the most popular uses for a marble plinth. A plinth at 450–550mm height with a flat top surface functions well as a bedside table, side table, or end table. It provides a stable, easy-to-clean surface for a lamp, books, or a drink. Our Travertine, Black Marble, and Rose Marble plinths are particularly popular in this application.
Can marble plinths be customised?
Yes. We offer custom marble plinths cut to specific heights, widths, and stone selections for residential, interior design, and commercial projects. This is particularly useful when specifying for a retail space, lobby, or bespoke interior where standard dimensions don't suit. Get a custom quote and our team will come back to you with options.
How to choose the right marble plinth
Size
The most common question. As a rule of thumb:
- Bedside or side table use: 450–550mm height, 250–350mm wide
- Displaying a vase or sculpture: plinth should be roughly one-third the height of the object
- Statement floor column / gallery display: 800mm and above
- Plant stand: 400–600mm, wider base for stability
Material
Travertine is warm and textured — works well with linen, timber, and earthy palettes.
Black marble is graphic and modern — suits minimal, gallery, and monochrome interiors.
Calacatta Viola (purple and gold veining) is a statement piece — best used sparingly.
Arabescato and Rose marble are softer — suit coastal, Hamptons, and feminine interiors.
Budget guide
- Entry plinths from $970 AUD (Travertine, Black Marble)
- Mid-range from $1,435–$2,310 AUD (Rose, Arabescato, Calacatta Viola)
- Statement and coffee-table plinths from $3,500–$6,600 AUD (Slab, Onyx, large-format)
