CARING FOR YOUR VICTORIAN MARBLE FIREPLACE

Natural marble requires straightforward but consistent care to maintain its appearance long-term.

Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth to prevent surface buildup and avoid micro-scratching from grit and debris.

Clean with a mild, pH-neutral soap solution applied with a soft damp cloth. Avoid acidic cleaners, bleach, or abrasive products — these will etch the marble surface permanently.

For stubborn marks, use a soft-bristled brush with very light pressure. Do not scrub aggressively.

Rinse thoroughly with clean water after cleaning to remove all soap residue, then pat dry immediately. Do not allow moisture to sit on the marble surface.
