The Doric is a Travertine Navona hallway table 1200mm wide, 300mm deep and 860mm high with an oval pill-shaped top and two fluted columns. The columns are carved with vertical grooves running their full height, referencing the Doric order of classical Roman architecture and giving this table a distinctly different character from smooth-cylinder hallway tables.

The top has a thick bullnose edge profile and a gently rounded oval form softer and more considered than a hard rectangular edge. Both the top and the two fluted columns are carved from the same Travertine Navona stone, warm ivory in tone with the characteristic horizontal layering and natural pitting of Romano travertine quarried near Rome.

At 1200mm wide and 860mm high the Doric works as a hallway table, entryway console, or living room piece where wall space is limited but the piece needs to make an impression. The narrow 300mm depth keeps it flush against a wall without projecting into the space.
